Julian Currier is a multimedia music producer & engineer from Berkeley, California, currently based in Los Angeles. He is a current Recording Arts student at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film & Television, where he studies cinema and audio production, working across studio recording, screen-based sound, and live performance.As a record producer and songwriter, Julian has collaborated with a myriad of high-profile and Grammy-winning musicians. His discography includes Summrs and Autumn’s “Martin & Gina,” which reached #1 on SoundCloud’s New & Hot chart, and top placements on both the Billboard Heatseekers and Apple Music album charts. His production work on Kal Banx’s “1019” was honored on NPR’s Best Albums of 2025. As a performer and music director, Julian has played guitar, bass, and keyboards, and has opened for artists including Smino, Baby Tate, and Jordan Ward.While in college, Julian co-founded shangri-LA, an organization that produces live music events and a video web series. A major part of that includes directing and producing shangri-LA sessions (formally known as Tiny Dorm), a video series showcasing diverse live performances by LMU students in dorm rooms. He has also appeared on camera in select episodes on guitar and bass. Beyond his independent projects, he has been active on campus through singing in the Gospel Choir, performing in the African Music Ensemble, and serving as president of LMU's Music Industry Student Organization. Julian has also composed and held post & production sound roles on a number of student films. In 2024, Julian spent his summer at Ohma World, where he took part in the handcrafted manufacturing process of modular ribbon and condenser microphones.Julian’s work and interests span creative, technological, and entrepreneurial facets of popular music and its intersections with experimental, global, and DIY scenes. He is passionate about ethical practices in music, across careers, production practices, and product development. Julian writes, records, produces, and engineers music daily, and much of it will meet your ears (and hopefully hearts) soon, so stay tuned!
